Carine Roitfeld: The Client

Last week, W mag premiered a new documentary by Loic Prigent and Fabien Constant called “The Client,” featuring Carine Roitfeld. The 13-minute documentary follows the inimitable Roitfeld as she attends the couture shows as a “client” and then picks out dresses and gets fitted for a Paolo Roversi shoot which appeared in W‘s October issue.
The film is utterly charming, mostly because Carine Roitfeld is utterly charming and says hilarious things. For example: “I think your models are a bit fat, Karl” and “It has to be Carine” and then she tells us how to “be Carine.” It involves a skirt and tights. She also tells Azzedine Alaia that she feels like a “Barbie Alaia” in his clothes. He seems confused. She’s going to be one awesome madame.
Watch it. It’s well worth the 13 minutes.
