Preview the Daphne Guinness Exhibit — Pieces from Her Personal Collection

The "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" exhibitmay soon be coming to a close, but his designs — including more than 24 garments that have never before been displayed — will be on view when the Daphne Guinness exhibit opens on Sept. 16 at New York's FIT Museum.
The showcase, which Guinness co-curated, encompasses over 100 garments and accessories from Guinness's personal collection, plus films and images of and by her. She describes herself "not [as] a muse," but more like "a bee," going from one designer to another — which explains the wide array of McQueen, Alaia, Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, Rick Owens, Gareth Pugh, plus couture from Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, Lacroix, andValentino, and clothes Guinness designed herself, that will be on display.
The exhibition will be designed with Guinness's New York apartment as inspiration, and will also include her collection of Philip Treacy hats, Shaun Leane “armor” jewelry, and the vertiginous platform shoes custom-made for her by Christian Louboutin and Noritaka Tatehana.
