3 Ways To Wear Orange Blush

Orange is HOT for spring/summer beauty—new textures and shades keep the look from turning Miami circa 1985. Here are three fresh and modern ways to wear tangerine tones on your face.

WEAR ORANGE BLUSH Peaches & Cream

If you want to wear a bright orange blush, pair it with a perfect complexion. Stick with soft matte textures on the eyes and lips to bring out the color on your cheeks. Use a pressed powder one to two shades darker than your natural skin tone to contour the sides of the nose, below the cheekbones, your forehead, and eye sockets. The contrast of the bright cheeks with the natural skin texture gives a sun-kissed effect. Finally, dab a sheer nude orange lipstick on the center of your lips and blend out to softly coordinate your color.
Tip: To avoid clown cheeks, blend your orange-toned blush higher on the cheekbones instead of across the apples.

WEAR ORANGE BLUSH Fun & Fluorescent

Nothing says calienté like a bright orange lip. To pull off this technicolor effect, let lips become your focal point—keep them vibrant and low shine. Cheeks and eyes play supporting roles with soft peachy tones in shimmering textures.
Tip: Orange reds are much more flattering on most skin tones than yellow-oranges, which makes teeth look more discolored.

WEAR ORANGE BLUSH Sheer & Smoky

It's easy to rock a smoky eye with a peachy face if you control color and application. But it's also easy to overpower an already strong smoky eye, so stick to sheer formulas and light colors on cheeks and lips. We love the fresh and modern contrast of nude-peach blush with a metallic pewter smoky eye, which is less heavy and dramatic than your typical sooty smoky eye.
Tip: To freshen a daytime smoky eye, apply a metallic silver eye shadow or glitter in the inner corners of the eye and in the center of the eye lid to brighten those points and make eyes look larger.
