Forbes 2011 Rich List is out and LVMH owner Bernard Arnault came in at number four with a worth of a whopping £25.3 billion. Other fashion people to make the list were Francois Pinault, Phillip Green, and Giorgio Armani. BERNARD ARNAULT is fashion's wealthiest individual, according to the Forbes 2011 Rich List which was published today. Mexican Telecom tycoon Carlos Slim Helu came first place, with £45.7 billion.
Arnault, who owns luxury fashion conglomerate LVMH - which controls some of the world's most important fashion labels including Dior, Louis Vuitton and Givenchy and who this weeks invested in Bulgari, came fourth and is worth a staggering £25.3 billion, making him the richest man in France. The founder of high street store Zara, Amancio Ortega, came seventh with £19.1 billion. At number 13 came Stefan Persson, the chairman of H&M, with his £15.1 billion.
Other fashion names to feature on the list include Francois Pinault,owner of LVMH rival PPR - the company who owns Gucci,Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent and Stella McCartney. Pinault comes in at 67, with a £7.11 fortune. Philip Green and his wife Cristina ranked in at 132 with £4.45 billion, while Giorgio Armani featured at 136. The Italian 76-year-old designer is worth £4.1 billion.
