Kate Middleton Sells a Dress a Minute: How Does the Duchess’s Selling Power Stack Up to Mrs. O’s
Michelle Obama may have met her match when it comes to selling power.During the Obama campaign and her first 100 days in office, whatever Mrs. O wore created a buying frenzy. The $148 Donna Ricco floral print dress from White House Black Market that Michelle Obama wore on The View during the campaign? Gone. The three-piece J.Crew ensemble the First Lady wore on the Tonight Show back in October of 2008? It crashed the retailer’s site.
Now it’s Kate Middleton who sends shoppers to stores and online in droves to buy whatever she’s wearing. Of course, it’s helpful that both the Duchess of Cambridge and the First Lady wear high street items that real people can actually afford (though Michelle Obama mixes Alaia and McQueen in with her H&M). They’re accessible and that’s why people want to dress like them.

Blake Lively’s Rep Says Leaked Nude Photos are Fake; “Phew” Says Chanel
Blake Lively is at the top of her game right now: She’s dating Leonardo effing DiCaprio, set to star in summer block buster The Green Lantern, she’s a Chanel brand ambassador, and is beloved by Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour alike. What could go wrong? Leaked nude photos on the internet, that’s what.Naked sexy iPhone photos of a blond who looks an awful lot like Blake Lively made their way around the internet lightening quick last night. (You’re totally Googling them right now, I know–it’s cool I did too). But they’re not real. Blake Lively’s rep quickly released a statement to US Weekly saying, “The photos of Blake Lively which have just surfaced on various websites including Perez Hilton and Zap2it are 100 percent fake.” Her rep continued to say that Lively would pursue legal actions against the publications that initially published the photos “and any other outlets that republish them in any manner.” So, yeah, we’re not touching them.
It’s good news for Lively’s relationship with Chanel. Because while it might seem that Karl Lagerfeld’s love for the Gossip Girl knows no bounds (and he probably wouldn’t have cared if the photos were real), she is the official face of Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbags, and we’re sure Chanel would rather their brand ambassadors not have leaked naked cell phone pix of themselves all over the internet. Especially since rumors have circulated in the past that Chanel HQ is not so fond of the buxom blond, labeling her “off brand,” according to the New York Daily News‘ Gatecrasher. Wonder what they’re thinking now?
