Electric Circus
Clashing prints and kaleidoscopic patterns serve as the inspiration for Chris Nicholl’s latest work featured in the April edition of Flare. Models Wei and DJ don a colorful wardrobe of spring looks from labels such as Jil Sander, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney styled by Elizabeth Cabral. Ombre hair and flawless makeup by beauty artist Veronica Chu bring a neon edge to the flamboyant ensembles.

Marc Jacobs's Wanted Poster
In a tongue-in-cheek reference to the unknown thief (or thieves) who stole his Spring collection samples, Marc Jacobs posted a wanted sign in the window of his Mercer street store. The sign cleverly points out the fact that no one has been able to determine who stole the 46-piece line, but notes that "the thief is still at large and is now considered dressed to kill." Iris van Herpen: Futura Couture
Photographed by Jouk Oosterhof goes inside the old naval warehouse studio of young Dutch fashion prodigy haute couture designer Iris van Herpen as her first major solo exhibition opens at the Groninger Museum in the Netherlands, for Nowness.com
Lauded for her intricate sculptural creations made using advanced 3D printing techniques, Van Herpen has seen her dresses worn by the likes of Lady Gaga, Solange Knowles and Lindsay Lohan.
So does fashion feel like sculpture to you?I make sculpture dresses, but I do see my dresses as different to sculpture. I really need the movement of a person inside my clothes to make the whole thing alive and give it purpose. It gives an identity to the person, while the person gives identity to the piece.

The Rachel Zoe Collection: S/S '12 - Summer Sequins
Landing in stores now, the Rachel Zoe Collection’s sequin pieces shimmer for Spring/Summer 2012, full of beautifully tailored suits, head-to-toe white ensembles, and metallic prints, we are head over heels for Zoe's entirely wearable collection. Maxi dresses were a draw as well, with Zoe employing use of lush pleating and floaty fabrics for a bit of LA glamour and ease.
Alberta Ferretti for Macy’s
Just in time for wedding and prom season,Alberta Ferretti has whipped up a collection of perfect dresses–at prices we can afford–for Macy’s Impulse line.
From a pretty maxi frock with braided straps, to a super-hot one-shouldered evening gown, there’s seriously a dress for every occasion. Ferretti also designed a handful of easy everyday pieces like open knit sweaters in cream and navy, and floral and lace tops. We saw part of the collection last night at the line’s launch party and we have to say, the pieces looked even more high-end and pretty IRL, although that may have had something to do with the fact that the looks were styled with live doves in birdcages, and set against a blooming cherry blossom tree.
The collection won’t hit stores until April 17, but you can see the whole thing right here and now–All the better to scope out your must-have purchases.

A BIT MORE FROM CARINE: Carine Roitfeld, in Tokyo for various Chanel festivities, said she is flying to New York today to work on the September launch of her new magazine. Although she couldn’t be pressed on the name, she said it will come out twice a year and resemble a book. There will be no “front of the book” section and its emphasis will be “fashion with a lot of freedom.”
